Standard Flow Actuated Timed Shutdown System

Every WM160/18HC is supplied as standard with a flow-actuated unloader valve and an automatic timed total shutdown system.

When the operator releases the trigger gun, the pump enters bypass mode. If the trigger is not operated again within approximately 4–8 minutes, the machine automatically switches itself off. To continue cleaning, the operator simply returns to the machine and restarts it using the power switch.

This system is particularly popular with local authorities, utility companies, highways contractors, fleet operators, and industrial sites, where machines are often left unattended between cleaning tasks.

Unlike automatic restart systems, the machine cannot unexpectedly restart if a hose, trigger gun, or coupling develops a leak while unattended. This provides an additional level of safety while preventing the pump from remaining in bypass for extended periods.

Optional Upgrade – Automatic Trapped Pressure System

For applications where maximum operator convenience is preferred, the WM160/18HC can be supplied with an Automatic Trapped Pressure System.

With this option, the machine automatically stops after a preset delay when the trigger gun is released. When the operator wants to continue cleaning, they simply squeeze the trigger again and the pressure washer automatically restarts without returning to the machine.

This upgrade is particularly beneficial in vehicle wash bays and fleet cleaning applications where the trigger gun is frequently released during washing.

Please Note: Once cleaning has been completed, the pressure washer should always be switched off at the main power switch. The automatic restart feature is designed purely as an operational convenience and should not replace normal shutdown procedures.
